Volunteering Manager and Mentoring Manager,
University of Brighton

I am the Volunteering Manager and the Mentoring Manger based in the Careers Service, part of Student Operations and Support at the University of Brighton.   I oversee the mentoring programmes that are delivered from the Careers Service, including non-identity based matches and identity-based programmes. I also work on an NCOP funded programme to co-ordinate identity based mentoring programmes in secondary schools across Sussex for BAME school pupils and BAME university students.   I oversee the Volunteering Service for students and staff and also support students and academics to deliver community-based placements. I’m vice chair of the City Volunteering Partnership.   I am a freelance trainer and coach. I volunteer as a mentor on the staff mentoring programme in Sussex Police and I also volunteer as a coach for a small charity. Previously I was a Chair of Governors for 6 years at a large local primary school.
